No publishing date, early 1900s. Very small book, 3" x 4".

All edges gilt. Quite heavy wear to edges of cover and spine. Front end paper coming away from inside cover. Label mark to ffep. Split between pages 2 & 3, but all pages still attached. Inscription from previous owner on first blank page.

The third of Dickens' five Christmas Books. John Peerybingle lives with his wife Dot, their baby, ad their nanny Tilly Slowboy. A cricket chirps on the hearth and acts as a guardian angel to the family. One day a mysterious elderly stranger comes to visit and takes up residence at Peerybingle's house for a few days.
