The Death of a Millionaire - G D H & M Cole [1950]

£12.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

Paperback published by Penguin, 1950, in their popular green-and-white-covered mystery and crime series. The title was first published in hardback in 1925.

The story:
Millionaire Hugh Restington was murdered, and his killer transported the corpse in a trunk by taxi from one London station to another. That much the police established. But what happened next was a mystery, for trunk, corpse, and killer had all disappeared...

George Douglas Howard Cole (1889-1959) and his wife, Dame Margaret Isabel Cole née Postgate (1893-1980) were Fabians and socialist politicians who also took up detective story writing as a team, penning some 30 titles between 1925 and 1948.

The book is cocked and a little warped, and the covers show wear, especially at the top and bottom of the spine. There is a little spotting to the covers and considerable sunning to pages. The binding is holding, but feels fragile, and would probably crack if opened wide.
