The Early Germans

£10.99

Product description

The Early Germans
Clarendon Press, Oxford. 1965. pp162.

Good yellow jacket that has seen very little wear; sunned to s[pine and just a few marks here and there; no chips or tears. Nice blue boards with gilt itles to spine. Slight marking in lower corner of each board has made the colour fade. Corneres all excellent.
Excellent condition - the book has rarely been opened or read.
No illustrations, just lots of references at the foot of every page.

A number of changes took place in Germanic society between the middle of the first century B.C. when Julius Caesar wrote about the Germans and the end of the first century A.D. when Tacitus published his 'Germania'. In this book Professor Thompson tries to describe some of these changes and to show how and why they may have come about.

Most of the second-hand items you see online have been donated, by supporters like you, to our high street stores. Each item is then priced, photographed and listed on this site by our amazing team of volunteers from across the country.

After you have bought your item, our team of volunteers package and dispatch it from the Shop straight to you or your chosen recipient.

All profits from the sales of our goods go towards funding Oxfam's work around the world. We rely on your donations to sell online so please keep the cycle of goodness going!

Oxfam Bookshop Market Harborough

Oxfam is the UK's largest second hand bookseller. Oxfam bookshops offer a wider selection of books than most shops, from modern fiction and leisure interest to more specialist subjects, classics, and rare or collectable books. We also stock an attractive range of greetings cards and a good selection of stationery. Come and browse!

Could you help us by collecting donations from donors homes? Our shop receives many offers of generous donations that we have to turn down as we do not have volunteers able to collect. We would ask you to collect in your own car, at your convenience and reimburse your petrol costs. It might be a couple of times a month and would make a really big difference to our ability to make money.
