The Girls of Squirrel House

£19.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

This is a story by the popular author of the 'Abbey Girls' series, Elsie J. Oxenham who is considered by collectors of British Girls' Fiction as being one of the 'Big Three' with Elinor Brent-Dyer and Dorita Fairlie Bruce. Oxenham's books are widely collected and there are several Appreciation Societies around the world. The story was originally published in 1932 but the book is undated.

There is no dust jacket and the yellow cloth binding has been well handled and has areas of dust soiling, light water-stains and general marks. Corners are bumped and rubbed and spine ends are worn with small tears and slight surface loss. The spine has darkened but the titles are legible. Text block edges are lightly dust soiled; front and rear end papers have areas of foxing and several leaves have faint foxing spots. There are some minor page breaks where webbing can be seen but the binding is sound. The front free end paper has a neat birthday dedication dated 1938.
