The Impossible Garden by Rosa Steppanova Signed

£16.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

The Shetland Islands have one of the harshest climates in the temperate world, where growing plants is a challenge and gardening is not for the faint-hearted. In this book the author shares the trials and tribulations of 20 years of gardening on an often wet, windy and salt-drenched island.
In her month-by-month account the author shares her garden, as well as her skills, knowledge and experience, with the reader. She dispels some of the cliches associated with coastal gardens and demonstrates that gardening in a cool, oceanic climate can be immensely rewarding and enjoyable.
The Impossible Garden deals with the realities of marginal gardening and provides the reader with a vast range of plants, tried and tested in Shetland.
It will appeal to all gardeners, from the inexperienced beginner faced with a bare piece of ground, to the advanced plantsman with an interest in rare and unusual plants and how best to combine them in a creative way.

A good copy with bumped corners and what seems to be some mild water damage at the front. This does not affect the text or the quality of the picture therein, however.
