Hardback with unclipped dustjacket, 168 text pages plus 152 b&w illustrated paintings. Full title is 'A Chronological History of the The Old English Landscape Painters (in oil) from the XVIth Century to the XIXth Century. The cover, in blue cloth boards with gilt titling to the spine and front, is in very good and clean condition with just a few fading spots at top of front. Internally the book is in excellent, tight and clean condition throughout. The dustjacket, which is not price clipped, is in good condition commensurate with age with a little tanning to spine, some light dusty marks to front and some light shelfwear to top edges. Overall, a very handsome book and scholarly study illustrated with many wonderful plates.
