Publisher: Victor Gollancz, London, 1949, 1st edition. Hardback, 350 pages, unclipped poor/fair dustjacket. Cover and contents are in generally good, sound and firm condition commensurate with age with a little fading and shelfwear to cover, some foxing to page block edges, endpapers and prelims and small neat inscription to ffep. The dustjacket, which is not price-clipped (shows price of 11/- net) is in poor but acceptable condition with some fading / tanning to spine and boards, shelfwear to edges and a couple of largish tears (with loss) on spine which has thus been subsequently backed / strengthened with transparent tape to keep the dustjacket together. Overall, a sound 1st edition of this classic Du Maurier novel in a poor / acceptable unclipped dustjacket.
