The Pilgrim's Progress and Other Works [19th century deluxe illustrated edition]

£24.99

Product description

A tome containing a memoir of John Bunyan's life by George Cheever, "The Pilgrim's Progress" with author's apology and index, "The Holy War" with preface and index, a relation of the imprisonment of Bunyan, "Grace Abounding," and "Christian Behaviour". Illustrated with copious in-text engravings and numerous black-and-white plates, plus a pull-out facsimile of Bunyan's will and pull-out engraving of Bunyan's dream (torn) with key.

This book is undated, but we would estimate the publication date at 1880. It seems to have been re-bound at some point in its history.

Overall, this book is in fair condition. Half-bound in leather which is very worn. Binding is tight. Edges of book block are tanned. End papers heavily tanned. Blank page before frontispiece bears a dedication in blue ink. Interior binding split before frontispiece, but pages are still tight. Pages are grubby but for the most part free from foxing.
