The Poems, Letters and Lands of Robert Burns. Illustrated by W H Bartlett, T. Allom and others. Review, biography and critique of his work by Alan Cunningham. This is a two volume set bound in leather with marbled end-papers and published by George Virtue of London. Published 1838 and 1840.

CONDITION: Used. Both volumes are in similar good condition for their age.

Volume One: Front cover is peeling in the top/right corner and both corners are knocked. The back cover is intact with similar knocks to the corners. The back cover split for much of its length with the spine but the volume is still firmly bound. The spine bears an abbreviated title and is scuffed. It has a small hole near the top. Pages have foxing and some minor splash marks but otherwise are good and complete. There is a faint note on one of the front pages. The illustrations are clear and complete.

Volume Two: Front cover both corners are knocked. The back cover is intact with similar knocks to the corners. Both covers have some splitting with the spine but the volume is still firmly bound. The spine bears an abbreviated title and is scuffed and has a small tear. Pages have foxing and some minor splash marks but otherwise are good and complete. The illustrations are clear and complete.
