The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club by Charles Dickens (1887) Limited Ed.

£80.00

Product description

Written by Charles Dickens originally in monthly instalments and eventually published by Chapman and Hall in 1837 in book form, The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club is Dickens' first novel.

These two volumes of The Pickwick Papers, published in 1887 by Chapman and Hall are in fair to good condition. They are from a limited run of 2000, and of those 2000 are within the 500 only printed on India Paper. We have tried to show as much of the water damage in Volume 1 as possible, so please have a good look at our pictures.

Vol. 1 has extensive water damage from about page xxii to 329. None of the pages have stuck together fortunately, but there are pinkish stains from the ink running. Certain pages have very faint, barely visible damage, however some nearer the middle have a wide radius of damage. I have tried to show this as best as possible in the photos, especially when it comes to the plates.Vol 2 seems to be unread as a lot of the pages are uncut at the top. There is foxing throughout, however the text is mostly clean and clear.

We will be sending the books to you via DHL.
