The Receipt Book of Lady Ann Blencowe

£50.00 Out Of Stock

Product description

Lady Ann Blencowe's Receipt Book offers an important historical insight into the kitchen and stillroom of a society lady of the late 17th Century. The original cannot be found but a reproduction published in the 1920's ensured that the collection has survived. We may imagine that some of the recipes have been appreciated by her descendants down the centuries, and family members are now sharing their heritage with the publication of this book. The adapted recipes added by Christina Stapley give readers the enjoyable opportunity to rediscover the rich elegance of Lady Anne's preserves and desserts.

The jacket has a few light handling marks and some indentations on the glossy surface. The book is in fine condition, with only minor bumping to spine ends, and is clean and bright inside. On the front free end paper is a dedication written by Christina Stapley. Contains a section of 13 colour plates.
