The Rectory and the Manor

£40.00

Product description

A beautiful, though somewhat worn edition, of an 1860 novel, dealing with two families, one living in the rectory and one in the Manor House.
This is a typical mid-Victorian morality tale with the protagonists' being encouraged to lead more God-fearing lives. Brimming with piety and religious ecstasy.

It is bound in olive green leather with the title on the decorative spine. The leather is worn in places and the covers are stained.

The endpapers are beautifully marbled, as are the edges.

The frontispiece is tissue guarded.

There is an inscription in ink at the beginning of the book.

Moderate foxing, staining and age-toning.

The hinges are broken and the webbing is visible but the pages remain secure to the binding.

Trying your first wedding gown is by appointment only by booking HERE or you can also book appointments on our Facebook page on this link: https://www.facebook.com/OxfamBridalSouthampton/.  During your one hour, free appointment, our stylist volunteer will help you choose and try on dresses. Usually you have time to try 5-6 dresses, but if there's time you can try as many as you like. Please help us to maintain our dresses by avoiding wearing heavy make-up. We currently have appointments available on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm.  In addition we sometimes have appointments available on Friday afternoons, dependent upon volunteer availability.

If you are interested in visiting our Prom Room to look at evening wear, bridesmaid dresses, grooms wear and accessories, please telephone us on Wednesday and Saturdays between 10:30 and 3:00 at 023 773192 or message us on our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/OxfamBridalSouthampton/ at any time.
