"A complete dictionary of contributors and their work, from its foundation in 1769 to 1904." A 1970 four volume facsimile of the original 8 volumes published in 1905. "The list of artists is in alphabetical order and the entry indicates the profession i.e. painter, sculptor, architect etc with their address, the date of exhibitions at which the works were presented in chronological sequence together with the catalogue number for each item and its title."

Hardback volumes in very good condition. Red cloth covered boards with gilt titling to spines. Ends of spines bumped. Some wear on corners and edges. Foxing and marks on edges. End papers generally are discoloured. In volume 2 there is a paper flaw on one page and a tear in the next page which has been repaired with sellotape.

Dust jackets in good condition. Ends of spines bumped. Shelfwear and creasing to edges, with short tears at top back of spines of two of the volumes. Spines a little sunned, with occasional marks. Front flap of volume 4 has bookseller's price label.

Heavy set, delivery by courier only to GB addresses.

Oxfam Books & Music Berkhamsted

Located in the centre of the historic market town, we are open seven days a week. You will find a wide and interesting range of stock, including a great selection of children's books, popular and classical music on vinyl and CD, vintage Penguins and other paperbacks, and quirky and collectable items. Our stock is selected by knowledgeable volunteers, catering for both general readers and specialists. We are happy to check our backroom stock for wanted items and also offer a request service. Our themed windows are usually changed every two weeks, with our December Christmas displays offering a diverse and unusual range of gift ideas.

We welcome your donations, which can be brought to the rear of the building (via the Lower Kings Road Car Park). Please contact us before bringing large quantities to discuss arrangements.
