The Running and Maintenance of The Marine Diesel Engine

£24.99

Product description

"A reference book for marine engineers and others qualifying as engineers of motor vessels, giving practical suggestions from sea experience. Written by John Lamb, formerly 14 years Superintendent Engineer, Anglo - Saxon Petroleum Co. Ltd.; 10 years Chief Engineer, British Mercantile Marine." This is the third impression of the fifth edition which has been rewritten and enlarged.
The book is bound in blue boards which show marks of wear and scuffing at edges and corners. Fading and slight creasing to spine. Gilt titles to spine. Front board is starting to detach from the binding but back board is secure. End pages are age-toned with patches of foxing and there is slight loosening of the first few pages of the book, including the frontispiece, which shows the author posing in front of a magnificent Hawthorn-Werkspoor 4,000 engine. There is an inscription from a previous owner on inner board and contemporary advertising to front and back. There are black and white plates, numerous illustrations and fold-out diagrams within and all in good condition. Pages are age-toned with deeper tanning to edges and a few dog-ears but this is a wonderful work for the enthusiast to own.

Oxfam Shop Southampton

We have a dedicated bridal suite within the Oxfam's Southampton shop, with good quality fashionable bridal wear and accessories, new and second-hand, usually with a choice of over 200 dresses. Many of our beautiful wedding dresses can be taken home on the day. We also have another suite with a range of bridesmaid dresses, groom outfits, veils and lots of other wedding accessories.  Selected bridal items are available to order online.

Trying your first wedding gown is by appointment only by booking here.  During one hour of a free appointment, you will have our stylist volunteer to help you choose and try the dresses on. Usually you have time to try 5-6 dresses, but if there's time you can try as many as you like. Please help us to maintain our dresses in a good condition for other brides to try. You can wear make-up, but we will provide you with a face cover to prevent transferring the make-up to our dresses. The appointment will be on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 to 3.

In the main shop, we sell good quality clothes, books and homewares. We also stock greetings cards and a range of 'green' products.
