The Savoy Operas being the complete text of the Gilbert and Sullivan operas as originally produced in the years 1875 - 1896 by Sir W.S. Gilbert, published by Macmillan and Co, Limited, 1927. pp 698. Hardback, with gilt lettering to spine, and the Eton crest in gilt on back board. Gilt edging to pages, b/w line drawing on title page. Marble endpapers, with bookplate inside front cover indicating it was the Headmaster's leaving prize from Eton in 1927, signed by the headmaster, Cyrillus Alington.

Very good condition, with very slight bumping on bottom corner and front board is cracked at title page. First edition 1926, reprinted March and May 1926 and 1927.

Includes the text of the following operas: Trial by Jury, the Sorcerer, HMS Pinafore or The Lass that Loved a Sailor, The Pirates of Penzance or The Slave of Duty, Patience or Bunthorne's Bride, Iolanthe or The Peer and the Peri, Princess Ida or Castle Adamant, The Mikado or The Town of Titipu, Ruddigore or The Witch's Curse, The Yeoman of the Guard or The Merryman and His Maid, The Gondoliers or the King of Barataria, Utopia or The Flowers of Progress, The Grand duke or the Statutory Duel.
