Product description

The Story of Money – 1st edition

Norman Angell

Cassell & Company Ltd, London, etc, 1930: 1st edition.

Hardback; 150 x 220 mm; black boards with titles in gold on spine; xvi & 422 pages; top edges gray/blue; illustrated. No dust jacket.

The book is in good condition. The binding is sound. Minor shelf wear to the covers. Page end tanning. Front paste-down endpaper rust stained from a paper clip.

Sir Ralph Norman Angell (1872–1967) was an English Nobel Peace Prize winner. He was a lecturer, journalist, author and Member of Parliament for the Labour Party. He was one of the principal founders of the Union of Democratic Control. He served on the Council of the Royal Institute of International Affairs, was an executive for the World Committee against War and Fascism, a member of the executive committee of the League of Nations Union, and the president of the Abyssinia Association. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1933.
“The Story of Money” is a story, written for the layman, of man's experiences with the device of money: some of the outstanding experiments: some of the ideas he has had concerning it: some of the mistakes that he has made about it.
