Six months of the illustrated monthly 'Strand Magazine' bound into one hardback volume. Also included at the rear is the magazine for July 1902. Blue cloth hard covers with black titles, outlining and illustration on the front, black and gilt titles on the spine. Bevelled boards have edge and corner wear; spine has wear and chipping at the top and base plus some surface rubbing. Text block binding is generally sound though the hinges are cracked near the front board and near the back board. Owner name on second free endpaper. Occasional light foxing through the text. Damage on the fore edge of pages 355-358 where the binding is loose. Pages 667-675 are missing (part of the June magazine). Includes fiction (including chapters from The Hound of the Baskervilles), interviews, play scripts, humour, portraits of celebrities, etc. Many illustrations. Scarce volume.

Oxfam Bookshop Lymington

Lymington is on the South coast, bordering on the New Forest National Park which was created as a Royal Forest in 1079 by William the Conqueror, and first recorded as 'Nova Foresta' in the Doomsday Book in 1086. Our Oxfam Shop at 73, The High Street is in a lovely Georgian building, the tallest in Lymington. The elegant Georgian buildings lining the wide main street were built mostly for merchants in the local salt trade. The famous Saturday market brings the town to life with its variety of stalls. The area is renowned for outdoor pursuits, including camping, sailing, windsurfing, and surfing, as well as forest walks and horse riding.
