Publisher: William Heinemann, London, 1950, 1st edition. Hardback with dustjacket, 188 pages. Cover, in blackboards with silver titling to spine, is in good, clean and bright condition with just a trace of fading to top and bottom edges of spine. Internally the book is in good, firm and bright condition with no creases, tears or marks Neat pen inscription on ffep. Tanning to endpapers and half-title page, otherwise pages are clean, clear and bright. Very slight weakening of hinge at p 123, otherwise firm and tight. The dustjacket, which is price-clipped, is in poor to fair condition with significant shelfwear and rubbing, a missing central portion of spine, a closed tear to top front edge (with attempt at sellotape repair) and a small missing portion at top of spine - otherwise complete. The back with rear flap has separated cleanly from the rest of the d/j at the rear spine edge. Overall, a good 1st edition copy of this Graham Greene classic in a poor / fair original dustjacket.
