Issued as a print to order, in H/B. No jacket, as, I think, issued.
The digital printing accounts for the slightly 'misty' aspect of the general reproduction of print & illustrations, but the illustrations are v good quality, not all pixilation as in some POD productions. Some pages have a mild waviness, also often found in digital printing.
Cover is of the slightly textured variety favoured by publishers these days, and shows some handling marks/rubbing.
FAULT - fairly obvious - someone (I assume, not some thing) has managed to remove a chunk from the head of the spine, mostly at the front. There's a slight chip/knock at the foot of the spine/gutter on the front too, both without internal damage, not even to front endpapers. There is a name written in ballpoint on the front free endpaper in the top outer corner.
Orin McMonigle seems to be the current expert on the subject, and has published a series of books on identification, breeding and so forth, of various insects, bugs, spiders & crabs.
