Product description

The Unveiled Evangel

Dinsdale T Young

The Epworth Press (J Alfred Sharp), London, nd.

Hardback; 135 x 190 mm; red boards with paper spine label; xii & 212 pages. No dust jacket.

The book is in fair condition. The binding is sound and tight though the book is slightly cocked and bowed. Some marks and wear to the covers particularly the fore edge of the back cover and along the joints. Bumping to the ends of the spine, and the spine is a little faded. Some chipping of the paper spine label. Page end tanning and some foxing. The verso of the back free endpaper is impressed with the stamp: “The Western Bible & Book Depot Weston-super-Mare”. Tanning of the back free endpaper.

Dinsdale T. Young (1861-1938) decided in early life to become a Methodist preacher and began to preach at the age of fifteen. He was ordained in 1879 and was the youngest person till then to be ordained a Methodist preacher. His sermons were unashamedly simple, though expressed in beautiful English and delivered with dignity and seriousness. All his preaching was deeply rooted in the Bible as can be seen from the contents of The Unveiled Evangel.
