The Wildlife of Dartmoor

WAS £50.00 £25.00

Product description

The Wildlife of Dartmoor by Norman Baldock and John Walters and published by Wotton Printers in 2008.

Dartmoor is well-known for its wild scenic beauty and it was mainly for this reason that it became one of Britain's first National Parks in 1951. This book is about the fantastic variety to be found here, from lichens to ferns to buzzards and otters. This variety exists because of the traditional management of the land by previous generations which has provided a wealth of rich habitats. Such a large area of wildlife habitats is now unusual in this country, and it is this connectivity which enables many rare plants and animals to thrive.

This book is a hardback in very good condition with plenty of photographs and illustrations throughout. The spine is bumped but the bindings are tight and it looks almost brand new.
