Product description

Written by a former soldier who served in the Confederate army in the American Civil War, and first published in 1877, this is the second edition, published in 1928, of the book that was the foundation of the sport of archery in America. An extra chapter was written by the author's brother, also an ex-soldier in the Confederate army. Tan cloth boards with black titling to the front board and spine, and an illustration of an archer on the front board. There is some light staining to the boards. The head and tail of the spine are slightly crushed, and there is minor bumping to the corners. The pages are tanned, and page edges dusty. A bookplate is on the front pastedown. The frontispiece is a photograph of the author (the ink of some of the photograph is visible on the verso). The book is clean and tightly bound, and in good+ condition.
