Published in 1870 by William P. Nimmo, this is The Works of Jonathan Swift, with a biography of the author by D. Laing Purves; and original and authentic notes. Includes Gulliver's Travels, Tale of a Tub, Journal to Stella, Captain Creighton, and more.
Good condition hardback, commensurate with age, on textured green boards blind-stamped in a fashion to resemble half-binding, with gilt titles to the spine and top edge gilt. Some light wear, rubbing and bumping to the corners, edges and the top and tail of the spine. Internally, the leaves are yellowed with age, however the text is fully legible and clear. The binding is cracked and exposed between the contents page and the start of the text, however the binding still holds firm. No dustjacket present.
