Twelve miniature volume set of Shakespeare's works, half bound with red cloth spines and corners, and green boards having a tiny dark floral pattern. Gilt titles on the spines; spines are a little darkened. Gentle bumping at the outer corners and tops/bases of spines. Blind stamped decoration on the spines. Boards have surface scuffing and edge wear. Binding is generally good with a few cracked hinges (vols II, III, VII, X), although vol II has two detached illustrations. Some volumes have light foxing on the endpapers. Vol VI has a small dark stain on the fore edge which extends into the margins of pages 59 - 107. Vol IX has a small red damp stain on the rear endpaper in the top right corner. No inscriptions. Each play is preceded by an engraved illustration. Undated but the set appears to date from the late nineteenth century; the illustrations are in the Pre-Raphaelite style.
