At the start of the New Millennium, the range is still the most avidly collected range of diecast model cars, vans, trucks, fire engines and buses in the world. Models of Yesteryear are now produced by Matchbox Collectables and are still eagerly sought by an ever increasing
number of enthusiasts.

Kevin McGimpsey and Stewart Orr - the curators of the Chester Toy & Doll Museum which displays one of the largest Matchbox Models of Yesteryear collections in the world - have compiled the most authoritative comprehensive and complete book of its kind. Within its 528 pages the detailed factual copy is illuminated by 48 full - colour plates, displaying over 650 yesteryear models in different guises - 450 black and white photographs show every major release and some 300 perfectly drawn diagrams supplement the text to further explain the casting modifications made to the models.

The Yesteryear Book 1956 to 2000 will satisfy both new and experienced Yesteryear collectors alike. In all, over 2000 carefully checked and authenticated issues have been recorded and documented within these pages. The vast majority of the models have been valued and each model has an investment comment.
