They Were Sisters, Dorothy Whipple, John Murray, 1st edition 1943, 288 pp

£14.00 Out Of Stock

Product description

Hardback, no dustjacket, green cloth board cover, black lettering, handling and shelf wear, some rubbing on corners and bumping to spine, board minutely exposed at bottom of spine corner. Internally there is foxing to most pages, particularly at the first few and the last few pages and intermittently within, eg pp 27 - 38. This is because the original quality of the paper was poor, being printed during the Second World War; the front free end paper bears the inscription :"Book Production War Economy Standard - this book is produced in complete conformity with the authorized economy standards". Pages 286 - 287 are particularly relaxed, exposing the webbing. Otherwise the book has worn rather well, considering its low quality binding and production value.
