Product description

The author, N, 1830. or Cabinet of Armorial Bearings of the Nobility & Gentry of Great Britain & Ireland, from the earliest to the present time; with a complete Glossary of Heraldic Terms, to which is prefixed a History of Heraldry. In three volumes, totalling approximately 1,700 pages, with engraved vignette title page to each volume, plus frontispiece in Volume I and 68 plates in Volume III, appendix, addenda; half calf, spines decorated in gilt between raised bands, with gilt lettered red Morocco title & volume labels, purple textured cloth boards, faded and slightly worn.

Volumes 1 and 3 hard covers intact with only minor bumping to the corners and some discolouration as expected with age. Volume 2 hard cover is detached from the spine and held on only by the plastic covering. All volumes have been covered in plastic. Volumes 1 and 3 have masking tape holding end papers together. The spines are generally in good condition with no splits of fraying and gilt lettering is still clearly visible.
All three bindings are tight and all pages are intact and well aligned. Pages are discoloured with age as expected.
