Those Were the Days When I Used to Drive Around with a Horse's Head on

£7.99

Product description

For the book Unverbunden (Unconnected), Trabandt has collected staged and documentary photographs, produced between 2005 and 2012, and combined them in order to juxtapose her world of theatrical exaggeration against the prosaic grimness of everyday life realities. These images reflect impressions drawn from Trabandt's sceptical observation of her surroundings and, taken as a whole, spring from her frequently recurring notion that no one is actually connected to anyone else. That the pursuit of happiness is only a hormone-driven selfishness that has controlled us since primeval times and every quest for connection is doomed to failure due to this pervasive, animal-like compulsiveness. While they are not exactly romantic, these photographic confrontations are not as bleak as one might think. If nothing else, they serve to illustrate that a mutual feeling of unconnectedness is, in itself, a connection.

This copy (number 169 of 300) is in very good condition, almost as new.

Oxfam Books & Music Olney

Welcome to Oxfam Books And Music Olney, situated just off the market square in Stanley Court opposite the Co-op. Come and browse our extensive selection of books, music, DVDs, computer games and cards. In our shop you can discover a great range of material from the latest modern fiction to classic literature and vintage LPs. We are always happy to receive your donations of books or music, and you can choose to Gift Aid them to Oxfam. We might also be able to collect particularly large donations - just ask. We are always interested in hearing from people who wish to volunteer with us. Just pop in to collect an application form.

Could you help us by collecting donations from donors homes? Our shop receives many offers of generous donations that we have to turn down as we do not have volunteers able to collect. We would ask you to collect in your own car, at your convenience and reimburse your petrol costs. It might be a couple of times a month and would make a really big difference to our ability to make money.
