These include advertisements for Harland & Wolf, Doxford Engines, Vickers -Armstrongs Limited, Hopkinsons' Valves for the 'Mauretania', Sieman's marine telephones, Richardsons, Westgarth & Co Ltd of Hartlepool etc.

The thick brown paper covers are tanned around the edges and are worn at the top and bottom of the spine. The top, fore and bottom edges show faint foxing. The front cover contains the words 'Transactions of the Institute of Marine Engineers, founded 1889, incorporated by Royal Charter 1933, to advance the Science and Practice of Marine Engineering'. The Institutes's circular emblem sits in the middle of the front cover. The pages are clean and bright. The binding is good.
