The attractive and bright cover in green cloth illustrated boards and spine with gilt and black titling to spine and black titling to front, is in good condition for its age with light shelfwear, light bumping to spine extremities and corners and a few small fade and handling marks mainly on rear. Internally the book is in generally fair to good condition commensurate with age with some foxing (throughout book but mainly on endpapers and prelims), pen inscription on ffep. Binding is generally secure overall with no loose pages, but there is weakening of the hinge at page 3, page 32, page 64, page 81, page 112, page 144, page 176, page 192, page 224. Lovely full page b&w plates by Walter Crane with a highly attractive illustrated title page which is tissue guarded. A charming edition of this classic children's story.
