Full black leather binding, the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge blind stamped on the front, the title and volume number are on the spine in gilt.

The hinges are broken at the top and bottom, but are still well attached over the rest of their length.

General wear all round, particularly the hinge edges and the bottom corners.

There is a previous owners inscription on the ffe.

The first few pages, from plate 2 to page 1, have evidence of a liquid stain over the top half of the pages.

The main text is clean and bright.
