Views of Stowe by John Claude Nattes

£10.00

Product description

This book is in good condition. The pages are clean throughout other than the first page which has some foxing; there is also little foxing on the edges of the pages.

The Buckinghamshire County museum acquired Nattes's view of Stowe in the late autumn of 1980. A year later, while the drawings were being examined by a conservation expert, the School asked the Museum for permission to reproduce some of them in 1983, to mark the sixtieth anniversary of the School's foundation. The Museum welcomed the idea, asking in turn that it should become partner in the enterprise and suggesting that publication should take the form of a full catalogue of the drawings, reproducing as many as them as possible. Agreement was quickly reached, and the present volume, jointly published by the County Museum and Stowe School, is the result of the partnership.

This catalogue contains 51 black and white drawings of Stowe.
