Illustrated History of the 28 Villages of the Ouse - The Great Ouse - that dominates Bedfordshire.
The book is a record of the 28 villages, their origins and development; their estates and churches; crafts and commerce; mills and bridges, and the people of the past. A concise, factful text is accompanied by copious illustration. The following villages are dealt with:
Turvey, Carlton, Harrold, Chellington, Odell, Sharnbrook, Bletsoe, Felmersham, Milton Ernest, Pavenham, Oakley, Stevington, Clapham, Bromham, Biddenham, Kempston, Eastcotts, Cardington, Cople, Willington, Goldington, Renhold, Great Barford, Blunham, Moggerhanger, Tempsford, Roxton and Little Barford.
The book condition is fair, the spine and very top and bottom of the hardcover is a little faded by the sun and the outer edges of the pages have a few brown spots but the binding is tight. One or two of the pages have an odd blemish but everything is perfectly legible.
Some lovely black and white photographs.
