Vintage Admiralty PROOF map of Jap inland sea Ominase to Gogo Shima 1959 revision. Chart # 3154.

£65.00

Product description

Vintage Admiralty PROOF map of Jap inland sea Ominase to Gogo Shima 1959 revision. Chart # 3154.

A superb nautical and topographic map of Japan inland sea between Ominase and Gogo island, it is stamped as a ‘Proof’ map and has small purple marks which presumably indicate possible amendments or queries.

The original engraving that is based on is dated 1905, this edition is dated 1914 with ‘small corrections’ made in 1955, ‘56 and ’59. A ‘large correction was made in 1955 (22nd April).

The original chart was published by The Admiralty 30th Sept 1905 under the superintendence of Captain A. Mostyn Field. RN. FRS. Hydrographer.

On the back of the chart, it has stamps in red with the word ‘CANCELLED’.

The chart measures 2ft 4 inches high (28 inches) 71cm high x 4ft wide (48 inches), 1220cm.

IT is in extremely good condition with a couple of vertical creases from storage, there is no damage or foxing or any marks other than the original purple amendment marks.

Would make a great display item.
