Born in Middlesbrough, Bill Norman has for many years been researching the air war over the North of England during the Second World War. He has written seven books on that theme as well as numerous feature articles, which have appeared in the northern press and in specialist magazines.

A photographic record of Teesside and its environs during World War II. A much revised and significantly expanded version of the author’s successful Wartime Teesside, published by Dalesman Publishing in 1989. This volume covers a wider range of incidents and includes many photographs that did not appear in the first volume. The photographs are supported by extended paragraphs of explanatory text.
