'Willynilly' To The Baltic

£19.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

First edition 1965. Hardback ex-library copy with unclipped dust jacket, with a protective cover secured to illustrated inner secured with discoloured adhesive tape. Stamps to first three prelims.

When John Seymour saw a fleet of Yorkshire cobles running in from the sea, he decided that willy-nilly he must own one. Being a man who thinks that the Battle of Hastings was won by the wrong side, he decided to sail to Friesland, Schleswig-Holstein and Jutland and see where our real ancestors came from. Throughout the story John Seymour closely observes - and gives his forthright views on - the fishing and farming practices, most of them good but some of them otherwise, of our North Sea neighbours. This is a book for those who have a taste for adventure and a love of the sea.
