With My Love and Blessings: The Teaching Years, 1966-1999 in Photographs & His Own Words

£40.00

Product description

Hardback in VGC, with dust jacket which is slightly 'baggy' top and bottom but in GC.
Photos in colour and B&W.

"With my love and blessings" is how Easwaran concluded his letters to close students in the last years of his life. Those who had the great blessing of sitting at his feet for so many years offered this book as a tribute to the teacher who gave so much of himself to so many. The book was assembled under the loving guidance of Christine Easwaran, drawing from the thousands of photographs and thousands of transcribed talks, letters, dictations, and notes in the archives of the Blue Mountain Center of Meditation and the personal collections of longtime students. Here the teaching years 1966 - 1999 are told through photographs and in Easwaran's own words. It's the thrilling story of how a "mystic in scholars clothing," as he describes himself, journeys deep into the inner world in meditation and at the same time makes the long journey from India to America, where he gathers around himself a dedicated group of students. Soon a small spiritual community is flourishing in the rolling hills of Northern California, books are coming off the press, and retreats are bringing students from the wider world. The story is all here in photos and a remarkable personal account.
