Woodwork Joints - Kinds of joints how they are cut and where used

£18.99

Product description

"The craft of woodwork consists largely of joining pieces of wood together, and over the years a huge number of joints have been evolved to suit the purposes for which they are required. The types, variations, and sizes of these must run into thousands, and to attempt to show all of them would be impossible in a book of this size. Neither would it be necessary, because many of them vary only in detail, and once the general principle is understood it is only required to allow the special features and adapt the work accordingly. In this book we have taken the basic joints, given their chief variations, and shown how to cut them. Any deviations necessitated by the nature of the work or due to peculiarities of trade can be easily made. It is not suggested that the methods of cutting described are the only ones possible. Many trades have their own traditional ideas about cutting this or that joint, but it can be taken that the way described is quite sound and has been proved by experience to be sound."

This book by the Editor of Woodworker Magazine has extensive black and white illustrations with some photographic plates.

Book pages are in very good condition but with some browning due to age. There are a few pages with marks and stains. Page edges are dirty. Book cover is faded and stained
