Yarns on Heroes of China

£28.99

Product description

This book seeks to appeal to boys at the age where hero-worship and sex instinct are lading him into a new world - the age when every boy wants to do something and to be something. To the normal boy it is a time of decision; and these Yarns are an attempt to capture him for Christian service, by presenting to his imagination word-pictures of the heroic deeds of people who have made missionary work their central purpose in life. A century prior to publication China was practically closed against the messengers of the King of Kings. The Yarns seek to show how an entrance has been made by the heroism and sacrifice of men and women who have gone out from Britain, and the faithfulness and endurance of Chinese who have become followers of Christ.

Published in December 1917, this is the second edition. The spine is disintegrating but the book is still intact. Some minor staining to the cover. Internally generally clean with one or two marks. In good condition for an antiquarian book.

Of interest to the general reader.
