The historical events that are commemorated in this collection are the Battle of Trafalgar, the landing of the British in Mauritius, the construction of Port Louis in Mauritius, the ball of Lady Gomm in Mauritius, the American Revolution, the British Legion, the East Yorks siege of Brimstone Hill, Edward the Confessor, Kenyan Independence, the Royal visit from King George 6th to the Bechuanaland Protectorate, the Nelson Horse Tram, the Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada, the Centenary of the Post Office Savings Bank, New Zealand Day in 1974, the Anniversary of the Zanzibar Revolution, the Anniversary of the Battle of Britain and the Anniversary of Togolais Independence. The oldest stamp in this collection was issued in 1927. The most recent stamp that was issued in this collection was issued in 2000. The rest of the stamps in this collection were issued in the 1940s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Many of the stamps have not been used. There is a complete set of stamps and an incomplete set of stamps. The used stamps in this collection are in good condition and some of them will have a postmark on them.
