On Friday 28 September, a powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake triggered a devastating tsunami on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. We urgently need support to get clean water, food and emergency shelter to survivors in the worst hit areas.
Up to 1.5 million people could be affected by the disaster, and over 2,000 women, men and children have already died. Thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes and the widespread destruction means that access to affected areas is difficult, but we are on the ground delivering life-saving supplies. We've already delivered hygiene kits to nearly 5,000 people. We're building toilets, treating and distributing water, and providing shelters.
