Who are we?
A network of volunteer speakers who can deliver inspiring talks and interactive workshops about the life changing work that Oxfam does to fight the injustices of poverty. From climate change to inequality, women's rights to Fairtrade, we can deliver a range of inspiring sessions that challenge the barriers that keep people poor.
We have more than 100 trained volunteer speakers all over England, Scotland and Wales, who share their passion for Oxfam and our values by delivering talks and workshops to groups of all ages.
Who can book a speaker?
Anyone - whether you are a community group, business, school*, university or youth group we'd love to tell you more about our work and how you could get involved.
Anywhere in England, Scotland and Wales (subject to availability)
What does it cost?
We will normally charge a £30 speaker fee to contribute towards travel expenses and administration. However, why don't you make your speaker visit memorable by fundraising for us! We will waive the speaker fee and can provide you with lots of fun activity ideas.
What will the speaker deliver?
You can choose to book a presentation, workshops, or a combination of both. We always aim to tailor your speaker visit to your needs, so Please give us as much information as you can about what you are looking for on your booking form. Please note however, we are unable to offer full day sessions as our Oxfam Representatives are volunteers.
*Visits to schools available in England and Wales only.
The pupils were very engaged and it was extremely beneficial for them to see how the issues we discuss in class affect real peoples' lives. The fundraiser was an excellent way to embed their response and was much more effective than us paying £30! A simple cake sale was enough to raise a bit of money and also get them to talk to others in the school about why they were raising money. They would be glad to do it again.
Woodeaton Manor School - April 2017
We are very grateful to the Oxfam speakers - they were very inspiring and our students enjoyed the event. Some of our students did state that they will over their summer break volunteer for fundraising or work in one of the Oxfam shops.
