You love books. Every month you buy £1.4m of donated books. And we're good at selling them.

We have a brilliant selection of books, including Fiction and Crime, Children's, Literature, Travel, Biography, Art, History and University textbooks to name a few. We have over 40,000 books listed on our online store and we have over 140 dedicated book stores across the UK. You can get involved by taking part in events, donating books, volunteering in your local shop or simply buying your next read.

If you've finished the latest bestseller or got boxes of paperbacks you'll never read again, you can donate books directly to our shops during opening hours, or pop them into one of 300 donation banks in Sainsbury car parks at any time. 

Any books that can't be sold are recycled or even made into cardboard boxes…nothing is wasted! And we have a video to prove it.

Lindeman's

The Lindeman's Wine & Book Club was a series of open evening events in Oxfam bookshops nationwide in summer 2012. Guests had the chance to get together with fellow book lovers to discuss, donate and buy books, all over a glass of Lindeman's wine. Entrance to the events required a donation of a bag of books to Oxfam on the door and Lindeman's pledged to match the total amount of money made in book sales at each event.

Hay Festival

For the fourth year running, Oxfam hosted a stock-filled bookshop at Hay Literary Festival 2012. The shop raised £42,000 for Oxfam - enough to build or renovate 24 classrooms while improving learning and exam results for children! Thank you for helping make this happen.

The King and Queen of comedy, Ruby Wax and Stephen Fry, got involved too, hosting a jubilee themed tea party and appealing for more book donations for Oxfam shops.
