REACTION: Colonna independent review into UNRWA neutrality

Responding to the Colonna independent review into UNRWA neutrality, Aleema Shivji, Oxfam’s Chief Impact Officer said:

“It is vital that the UK Government immediately restarts its funding to UNRWA. As so many people across Gaza face famine and destitution, the important work of UNRWA has never been more critical. It is the only humanitarian organisation with the ability to respond on the scale desperately and urgently needed.

“The relentless humanitarian nightmare continues in Gaza, with no ceasefire in sight, despite the UN Security Council resolution nearly a month ago.  The UK Government must use all of its diplomatic and economic power to press for an immediate and permanent end to the fighting, release of all hostages and full humanitarian access".
