As the conflict escalates in the Middle East, Oxfam staff are demonstrating how donations are funding our response.

There are now more than 760,000 people displaced in Lebanon. Often having to flee their homes with as little notice as 20 minutes, unsure of when or if they will be able to return. At the Oxfam warehouse in Bicester, North Oxfordshire, essential life saving water tanks have been shipped to Lebanon.

Shaista Aziz is a lead campaigner at Oxfam, who was previously based in Lebanon. She wants to express thanks to all those who have already responded to our emergency appeal. Shaista explains how she has seen for herself the impact when aid arrives in a conflict or disaster zone.

It's really easy for people to switch off in terms of the politics of war, but I think we have to remember that it's really impacting everyday people like us. This is really important because it gives people some hope and it makes them understand that they're not forgotten.”
