REACTION: Passing of the Safety of Rwanda Bill

Reacting to the passing of the Safety of Rwanda Bill, Helen Stawski, Oxfam Policy Lead, said:

"It is a sad indictment of the Government that they have gone to such extraordinary lengths to pursue such an inhumane policy.

"The UK has a moral and legal responsibility to welcome people fleeing war and persecution, a responsibility that millions of Britons want ministers to live up to. They should be introducing more safe and legal routes for refugees. But rather than do the right thing, the Government is dodging Britain's duty to people in desperate need."
