There is no "them and us" – join the Together march

On 28 March 2026, we will be attending the Together Alliance march to stand against the far right and to say clearly: Billionaires have broken Britain.

While politicians copy far-right talking points and scapegoat migrants and refugees, UK billionaires are growing richer by the day. In 2024 alone, billionaire wealth rose by £35 million every single day while public services crumbled, living costs soared, and climate disasters intensified.

This is not a coincidence. The fossil fuel industry, big business and the super-rich have driven inequality and climate breakdown. Many are funding and fuelling the politics that protect their power from backing climate denial to bankrolling divisive media and political movements.

Billionaire wealth is being used to redirect public anger away from corporate greed and towards migrants and marginalised communities.

The far right thrives on that division. The climate crisis arrived by private jets and super-yachts, not by small boats.

What is the day going to be like?

We all know that sometimes going on a march can feel a little daunting, but don’t worry, we’ve got you. I thought it would be a good idea to let you know what marches are like, how you’re making a difference, how much fun they can be, and how you can stay safe.

How do I get there?

The Together Alliance have hundreds of coaches from all over the country – from as far as Scotland and Cornwall to Nottingham and Essex. There are even a few spots left on discounted train tickets. The Together Alliance website has all the info you might need.

What's the vibe?

Marches can be fun as well as getting a serious message across – there are bands and musicians, families marching together, sometimes even the odd dog too. Generally, it’s a lovely crowd of people all standing up for what they believe in. Moments like this restore your faith in humanity.

What will happen on the day?

The Together Alliance are expecting this march to be a big one! Below you can find where the march starts, and where you can join other Oxfam supporters at the start. There are lots of different organisations coming to this march so the ‘What 3 words’ location will help you find us. We will be marching in the NGOs, Charities and Climate bloc.

If you do miss us, don’t worry, anyone can join the march at any point.

March for Love, for Hope, for Unity, together and push back hate.

Tips for coping with a long day

A march of this size can last a long time. You will be on your feet either standing or walking, if this is too much, then why not bring along a foldable stool or seat to help take that break you need?

It can get busy, really busy – so if it’s all getting overwhelming and you feel like the crowd is getting tight, there will be stewards along the route you can talk to and find some timeout.

Why not pre-arrange a meeting point or a quiet space away from the march, where you and your friends agree to meet if you get split up. Or just decide to meet up afterwards – it's always good to have an exit plan.

What to bring

  • Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
  • Water and snacks (definitely snacks, London is expensive).
  • Signs, banners, placards – we will have a limited number if you can’t bring your own.
  • Friends and family – everyone is welcome.
  • It will be noisy: consider ear defenders or ear plugs.
  • A charged phone for safety and communication.
  • A power bank for your phone (don’t forget the cable) if you need it.

Where is Oxfam meeting for the march?

The location for the start of the march is on Park Lane. Oxfam will be in the NGOs, Charities and Climate bloc. All the details for the different blocs are on the Together Alliance website.

Why not make your own placard?

Choose your placard message

  • Make it personal, what matters to you?
  • Remember, we’re there to let people know we choose love not hate.

Find something to draw on

  • Cardboard, a canvas, anything flat you can paint or write on, and ultimately hold up. Nothing too heavy, you’ll be carrying it all day!

Add your message

  • Be as creative as you can, single messages work really well, but don’t let that hold you back from decorating your placard to make this a peaceful protest!

Share anywhere or everywhere

  • Hold your placard high, take photos in famous places, share them with your friends and family and don’t forget the hashtag #together.

How can I stay safe?

Staying safe at a march is a key personal responsibility. This is a peaceful march and family friendly, but sometimes things go sour when external actors decide they want to disrupt things.

So, our advice is if you see something, say something. There will be stewards and police ensuring the march is safe for everyone and will be there to help you if something goes wrong.

If there seems to be something happening that you don’t like the look of, walk away. If you’re not feeling comfortable or safe, you can leave at any time. Taking a charged phone is important if you get lost or need any help, so bring a power bank too if you can.

We expect this to be a peaceful march where we get our message across.

We are stronger and bigger than the far right – there is no ‘them and us’ only us.
