Lobby Week: 13–20 September 2025

In September's Lobby Week, you have the power to make a difference – right in the heart of where you live.

Following the incredible mass lobby in Westminster this July – where over 5,000 people came together to demand action on climate and nature – it’s now time to take that energy home.

Act now, change forever: organise your own local MP meeting

During Lobby Week (13–20 September), we’re encouraging Oxfam supporters like you to meet with your local MP. It’s a powerful way to show that people in every community care about climate justice and expect real leadership.

Why does Lobby Week matter?

We all want a future that’s healthier, fairer, and safer. But that future depends on decisions made now. Meeting your MP locally helps:

  • Keep the pressure on after the Westminster lobby
  • Involve people who couldn’t travel to London
  • Show that the movement is truly national, rooted in every community
  • Remind MPs that constituents care and are watching

This is about more than one meeting. It’s part of a growing, visible movement pushing for real action on climate, fairness, and nature.

What can I do during Lobby Week?

You don’t need to be an expert – just someone who cares. Every meeting counts, whether it’s one-on-one with your MP or a small local group.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Reach out to your MP Request a meeting during 13–20 September. You could invite them to a local café, park, or even meet them at their offices. You can do this through the Climate Coalition website – it's super simple.
  2. Invite others to join Team up with friends, neighbours, or local groups – strength in numbers makes your message even louder. It also helps to take some of the pressure off. (MPs are humans too!)
  3. Got a meeting agreed? Once your MP has agreed to a meeting, log it on the huge interactive map so we can see how many meetings are happening across the country.
  4. Talk about the big issues Focus on the climate crisis and inequality and how this is affecting your community – and why we need leadership to overcome this climate crisis.
  5. Share your story After your meeting, post about it online, tag Oxfam, or share your experience with your local press or community network. The more visible this is, the bigger the impact.
