March with us in Central London on 20 September

Extreme wealth in the hands of the few is polluting our planet and undermining the fight against poverty. Those least responsible for the climate crisis are worst hit.

The UK government can make better choices, starting with tax on extreme wealth to move us towards a fairer and greener future for everyone.

The super-rich and the biggest polluters must foot the bill – It’s time to Make Them Pay.

On Saturday 20 September, thousands of us from across the UK will be gathering in Central London for a national demonstration. Join us!

Sign up to join us on 20 September and demand to Make Them Pay.

Oxfam is part of the Make Them Pay Coalition - an alliance that represents millions of workers, citizens and communities across Britain. The coalition of more than 50 UK organisations has three key demands:

1. Tax the super-rich

The NHS is crumbling, schools are underfunded, energy bills keep rising – and billionaires keep getting richer. But politicians are choosing to balance the books on the backs of the poorest people. It’s time to tax the super-rich and use this money to fund the services we all depend on.

2. Protect workers, not billionaires

The economy should work for the people who keep the country running, not corporations and billionaires. Our government must prioritise creating decent, reliable jobs for everyone in every community, and supporting the renewable industries of the future, rather than preserving extreme wealth for a few at the top.

3. Make polluters pay

Half the world’s emissions come from a handful of fossil fuel companies. These companies have known about the danger they’re putting us all in for decades. The people who have made trillions knowingly destroying nature, and putting our futures at risk, must foot the bill for cleaning up the mess they’ve created.
