Oxjam raises thousands of pounds every year from hundreds of gigs put on by volunteers across the country.
Last year our shops raised over £6 million by selling donated CDs and vinyl records. With over 550 shops selling music, including six dedicated music stores and our online shop, there's something for every musical taste in an Oxfam near you.
We engage people with our work at music festivals throughout the summer, and we provide 7,000 stewards who keep festival-goers safe and happy whilst raising money for Oxfam.
Don't Stop The Music was a two-part TV series on Channel 4 in which internationally renowned classical pianist James Rhodes aimed to demonstrate how learning a musical instrument can benefit school children. James launched the country's biggest ever 'instrument amnesty' and people were asked to drop your instruments off at any Oxfam shop. The amnesty is now over but you can still find out more about Don't Stop the Music.
Oxfam is proud to have helped deliver the instrument amnesty with James Rhodes' Don't Stop the Music because we believe in the power of music to change lives around the world. The campaign to increase music education in schools is independently run by James Rhodes.
Our shops don't usually facilitate donations of goods to schools in the UK but we hope Don't Stop The Music will inspire a new generation of musicians who will use their talents to make great things happen.
